Miracle Spotlight ~ Greg Murphy
Hello, I’m Greg Murphy. I am a teacher, wrestling coach, husband, father, and liver transplant recipient. I am blessed to have met Kathy through tragedy and hope. In 2018 with the loss of her only son Kathy chose to give others a chance at life. I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of Eric’s liver. The gift of life has allowed me to live a healthier life and be the best father, husband, teacher, and coach that I can be. Three months after receiving the transplant, I was honored to meet Kathy. Since meeting Kathy, I have been blessed to get to know her on a more personal level. We have spent time with not only each other but each other’s family. When talking with Kathy, it was clear that she had a passion for helping others in all aspects of life. Mullen’s Miracle has allowed Kathy and others a chance to reach out and lend a helping hand to people in all aspects of life.
In August of 2019, my wife and I were honored to help organize a Donor Dash team in Iowa City, Iowa. We designed a fantastic t-shirt for the event, honoring both those with depression and organ donors. Following the Donor dash, myself, Kathy, the kidney recipient, and the lung recipient got together and shared our stories with family and friends. My family and I are fortunate to have been able to play a small part in helping Mullen’s Miracles.
