HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT: YOUTH MENTAL ILLNESS features first-person accounts from more than 20 young people, ranging in age from 11 to 27, who live with mental health conditions, as well as parents, teachers, friends, healthcare providers in their lives and independent mental health experts.
As a mom I couldn't see through the signs that my son, Eric, was living with undiagnosed mental health issues much of his life, far before taking his life. There is so much information I wish I had known to get the help he needed.
I believe education and awareness are critically important for each of us as we, collectively as a nation, focus on improving the lives of those who suffer from mental illness.
